River-Labs: Trailblazing the Web3 Frontier with Handcrafted Generative Digital Art
International art pioneer, Andy Valmorbida, recently launched River-Labs, a groundbreaking Web3 digital marketplace that’s reimagining the connection between physical and digital art. River-Labs offers a platform for both established and emerging artists to create a long-term digital presence while safeguarding their legacy in the physical and digital art world.
Redefining the Web3 Space
In the rapidly evolving Web3 digital landscape, River-Labs stands out with its innovative offerings. It not only gives artists a platform to showcase their work but also introduces a unique system of automated royalty allocations. This allows owners to lease the rights to display art pieces in the metaverse and virtual reality platforms.
As Valmorbida explains, “River-Labs marries culture and utility in the art world. It empowers the creative community, acting as an incubator and harbouring their assets on the blockchain while allowing collectors who could otherwise not afford the original fine art to enjoy their own unique generative art piece.”
For the first time in the industry, River-Labs is offering an option for collectors to own generative physical artworks on canvas, fostering interactions between collectors and artists in physical spaces. The company is planning a program of pop-ups and exhibitions during key art fairs worldwide.
A Philanthropic Vision
Philanthropy is at the heart of River-Labs’ plan. In conjunction with the launch of River-Labs, the River-Labs Artists Foundation has been established, serving as an advocacy and educational organization. The foundation is dedicated to helping educate and curate artists while providing resources and networking opportunities to assist in their foray into the digital art space. A permanent setting in Florence, Italy, is planned for the foundation, with an annex installation in New York.
Prominent artists from Jordan Watson’s LOVE.WATTS platform, with its four million Instagram followers, will be selected to participate in River-Labs’ program. Watson comments, “We are thrilled to support the launch of this unique digital proposition based on accessibility, unbridled creativity, and the artists behind it. There is no progress without creativity.”
Bridging the Gap Between Web 2.0 and Web 3.0
River-Labs is joining forces with Pipeline Marketing to design a digital marketplace that will support artists and bridge the gap between Web 2.0 and Web 3.0. Pipeline’s CEO, Jonathan Teplitsky, expresses his excitement, “It’s exciting to be at the starting line of an industry that has unforeseen potential, and it’s even more inspiring to have partners that share our vision for the future.”
Ethereal will lead the onboarding of artists and the cultivation of the digital and physical communities accompanying the River-Labs project. Ethereal’s founder and CEO, Stephen Sabo, noted, “In the next 5 years, every major consumer, brand or media company — and artist — will need to have a presence and late adopters will need to acquire or spend more to catch up.”
River-Labs is more than a marketplace — it’s a revolutionary platform that’s changing the art industry and redefining the relationship between physical and digital art in the Web3 ecosystem. By giving artists the chance to establish a long-term digital presence and offering collectors a new way to interact with their favorite artists, River-Labs is not just predicting the future of art in the Web3 space — it’s shaping it.
